Here is a screen-grab from a wedding we filmed recently in the Kilkea Castle in Co. Kildare.
Susan and Garth were an exceptional couple to work with, and their photographer, Declan from kbphotography.info, was a true gentleman with a very relaxed and laid back aproach.  A big suprise for the bride and groom on the day was the Opera Singing Waiters provided by audio networks, they are excellent entertainment for a wedding, well worth checking them out. What music have you chosen for your wedding DVD?

This seems to be a more common question cropping up in wedding forums over recent times. For us as wedding videographers we are constantly asked to assist couples when choosing music tracks for their DVD.

Our two top tips for March 2009 are:

• Tom Baxter – Better

This romantic number comes from Baxters first album ‘Skybound’, realesed in December 2007, it has become more and more popular with wedding couples for their wedding DVD, but also for ceremony music and a first dance song. The official video is amazing , it’s true what they say, ‘pictures can speak a thousand words’, I think it’s romantic and beautiful and the lyrics are nice, what more can I say, things always get better.

• Jason Mraz – I’m yours

Here’s a classic if you’re looking for one.
This upbeat song is ideal for a faster paced wedding film, again it is ideal for a first dance song. Released in June 2008, im sure you will agree it is excelent. The first time I heard this song was in July 2008, when a couple chose it for their wedding DVD we produced, since then I have added it to my iPod and it is up there with my most played. This is a very querky, laid back song. We use the accoustic version on our wedding films. And im sure you can see why this is so popular.

This is a wedding I had the pleasure to film on friday. The wedding couple Tom & Sandra were absolutly perfect on the day, and obviously well matched. The photographer on the day was the ever professional John Daly from Co. Wexford, john was a true gentleman, very easy to work along side. The reception was held in the majestic Victorian Manor house, Kilashee house hotel. This is one of my top tips to consider when planning your wedding if you are close to this venue, the staff are very freindly and make you feel at home. The banqueting manager couldn’t do enough for the couple on the day. The gardens to the rear are absolutly perfect for photos. And for other photographers / videographers not familiar with this venue , I would defenitly recommend the nuns kitchen for a bite to eat. As always a venue I look forward to shooting in.

Sorry it took so long to get back in touch with you, we were busy watching our wedding DVD

We wanted to let you know just how delighted we are with our wedding DVDs. We’ve watched it several times now.

You managed to capture everything so beautifully and in such detail. The editing is flawless and the music fits right in. You were able to catch so many special moments that a camera alone can’t always do.

Our parents were delighted to get a copy too and they were as impressed as we were!

You’re a true professional Ian and it was the best money we spent on the day. It’s a fantastic memory that we’ll have forever and we’re so grateful that you captured everything so perfectly.

We love the dancers at the end, we cringe watching ourselves Irish dancing but we’re delighted that we have it on DVD. Thank you for staying on for that. 

I would recommend you to everyone who wants a professional videographer with an outstanding talent for filming and editing such an important event.
